Happy Mother's Day

I know most of you are very lucky Mom's, but I had the best Mother's Day! I think we need to make this a once a month Holiday. Of course with the help of my awesome husband who did some laundry, cooked dinner, and did dishes. While I got to take a nap and relaxed on the couch. Well, kind of, I did take care of baby and I walked in and sat at the counter and talked to Ben while he was making dinner. It's kinda hard to sit there and be waited on. I felt a little guilty. And I would love nothing more than my husband to just sit at the counter and talk to me while I make dinner every night, so that's what I did. I pointed that out to him hoping he would get the hint but he looked at me like I was crazy. Steak, dutch-oven potatoes, and salad. It was yummy! (We aren't much of a steak eating family and since I did the grocery-shopping, I decided I would splurge, It's Mother's Day!!)
Ben asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day and I really didn't need anything. I just happened to receive this stuff the week before M's Day so I felt selfish getting anything else.
My Mom had given me her old sewing machine but it ended up in the shop twice during Ave's quilt project, I panicked. We decided it had seen it's better days, so the guy gave us a good deal on this cute little guy. I need to decide how serious I'm going to get into this sewing business, so this one will start me out well. It just happened to be the week before M's Day.

And our computer has also seen it's better days, since it is 6 years old now and going downhill, we really needed to get another one. We decided we would get a laptop this time around. It just happened to arrive on Saturday. Ben brought in from the UPS guy and said Happy Mother's Day!! Works for me!

And this darling tile is what Clayton brought home from school for me. I did wait until Sunday to open it! Here's what he told me "It's a picture of me and you at the park. That's a tree with a mommy bird and baby squirrel, a bird flying in the sky, clouds and sunshine. And grass down here." Of course still at the age where he describes everything. I love it!!

My homemade cards, (tearjerkers)
more cards (kids, Ben and my parents.)
Spoiled, I know. The other present I can't forget about that the kids did pick out for me. A new pair of sunglasses, much needed. I almost took a self-portrait so you could see them, but I take enough dorky pictures of myself.

I love that you called the sewing machine "this cute little guy." I always miss you guys so much when I see your posts! Oh, and you will love the laptop. I like that I can just check email wherever my kids are playing instead of having to go off upstairs and ignore them.
