Carlie's Birthday

Carlie requested a ladybug cake or a butterfly cake.I encouraged her towards butterfly. I thought I could pull that off a little better than a ladybug. She was so excited, she wanted to be right there. I at least got her on the bar-stool so it didn't end up to be a wreck! She was so funny sitting there talking to me, "Is that my buttofly cake mom?"

She was quite happy with the finished product. That's all that matters, right? As long as birthday girl is happy!!
We had a little family party with all the cousins (I do mean all, Izak was even here:) a couple days before. She also requested Cafe Rio for dinner (sort-of, with some more encouragement from her Mom. I actually don't get her to agree with me this often. It turned out awesome!!

On her real birthday two days later, we had our own little family party for her
and she got a pink bike!! First pink bike in the house. She doesn't have to ride the blue and red ones anymore. Although I don't think she cared that much, she was excited!!

Happy Birthday to my Baby girl!!! Don't grow too fast!!

I'm impressed with the cake! I really hope I can pull off the fancy cakes when it comes time for me to do so.

Alexa! Why didn't you tell me about your cake making skills when I was there?? Poor Daisy wanted a butterfly twice and all I did was cut a round cake in half and turn the pieces outward. How sad. If only I'd known that YOU could tell me how!! Cake decorating, blanket making, canning, etc. etc. You are starting to make me feel like a crummy homemaker :)

Miss you guys! I was thinking just the other day how little Carlie seemed when she would be over with your boys. She seems totally different now, but I swear that was only yesterday that i was there!
